What you submit

When you use a form on this site — volunteer sign-up, volunteer shifts, petition, vote pledge, yard sign request, t-shirt sponsorship, endorsement, contact, event sign-up or RSVP, event feedback, school feedback, or voting deadline reminders — we collect what that form asks for. Depending on the form this can include your name, email address, phone number, mailing address or ZIP code, your interests or availability, your organization, and any message, photo or logo you choose to include.

Event sign-ups also include a short set of optional questions — how you heard about the event, the schools and grades of the children coming with you, and the supplies that would help your family most. These answers are optional, are used only to plan supplies, and are never required to receive a backpack, school supplies or anything else at an event.

Public comment record

Pontiac Public Voice collects your position on a proposal, your reason, the relationship you describe (parent, student, staff, resident and so on), your ZIP code, any comment or suggested wording you write, an optional display name, and an email address only if you choose to give one.

If you ask a question about a proposal, or ask a question during a live broadcast, we collect the question itself, the topic you chose, the relationship you describe, an optional display name, and an email address only if you choose to give one — so the campaign can answer you and publish answers of general interest.

Rivera AI assistant conversations

Conversations with the assistant are recorded so the campaign can improve answers and see what residents are asking. This includes your question, a short preview of the reply, the page you were on, the language used, and your name and contact details only if you used the assistant to submit a form or sign up.

Anonymous site activity

We record which pages and documents are opened, the page that referred you, your general browser type, and the traffic source or campaign link you arrived through. This activity is not linked to your name.

Spam protection

To stop automated spam, forms use hidden checks and a scrambled, non-reversible code so repeated submissions can be limited. Your full internet address is not stored.

Administrator sign-in

Sign-in accounts exist only for Maicol Rivera and authorized campaign administrators. Visitors do not need an account to use this site.

Information is used to reply to you, coordinate volunteers and events, maintain the public comment record for the Pontiac Governance Initiative, and send campaign updates you asked for. Your information is never sold or rented.

Taking part in a community event, receiving a backpack or school supplies, or attending a giveaway never requires political support of any kind.

Public Voice input becomes part of a permanent transparency record. Comments and suggested wording are reviewed before anything appears publicly, and contact details and any information identifying a specific student are removed before publication.

The substance of a position you submit is never edited or rewritten. Aggregate results are preserved even after a review period closes.

A small number of outside services help operate this website. Each receives only what it needs:

• Website and database hosting — stores the information described above and runs this site.
• Lovable AI service — receives the text of assistant questions and text submitted for translation, in order to generate a reply.
• U.S. Census address service — receives an address typed into the district lookup so the correct district can be identified. The address is not stored by this website.
• Google Calendar — receives the email address of event guests so calendar invitations can be sent for the shared community event calendar.
• Eventbrite — hosts the free ticket listing for community events. If you reserve a ticket there, Eventbrite collects your name, email address and any answers you give, and those details are brought into the campaign's event list.
• Email delivery service — sends campaign and confirmation email and keeps a delivery log and unsubscribe list.
• Cloudflare — carries live video when a broadcast is running.

If you check the optional text box when signing up, we keep your mobile number in Mailchimp to send voting reminders and campaign updates from Committee to Elect Maicol Rivera Torres. Consent is not required to sign up. Message frequency varies, and message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help. We never sell or share mobile numbers or text consent with others for their marketing.

Information is kept as long as it is needed for campaign and public-record purposes. To review, correct or delete your information, email riveramaicol@maicolcomputerservice.com. Every campaign email also includes an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing stops future campaign email without deleting the public comment record.

This website is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information. Youth and student sign-ups are intended to be completed by a parent or guardian. If you believe a child submitted information, email riveramaicol@maicolcomputerservice.com and it will be removed.

Private submissions — contact details, addresses, phone numbers and unpublished comments — are visible only to signed-in, authorized campaign administrators. Access is restricted at the database level, and no payment card details are collected or stored on this website.
